# Go fork and multiply

You have slop, I have slop. The interesting part is what we make out of it.

Nate's Software brings together **human user experience (UX)** and **agent
experience (AX)**: a fun place to spend time working, making things, and vibe
coding. People need software they enjoy using. Agents need tools they can work
with. I'm building for both.

## Find something. Make it yours.

Browse the marketplace, try an app, meet its maker. Find something useful and,
when its license allows, fork it into something of your own. Put your version
back on the shelf for someone else to discover.

Git is the foundation. Keep your source, work locally with your own tools, and
push your changes. Hosted builds, previews, and testing help you get from an
idea to something another person can actually use. Bring your own hosting when
you need it.

The goal is to make that whole trip feel connected: discovering software,
working on it with agents, trying it out, and sharing what you made. With chunky
buttons, a chat room, and a few games along the way.

## Own it. Pay the people you build on.

A purchase gives you a permanent license. Each release spells out its source,
downloads, and fork rights. Makers can allow personal-use forks or resale with
a royalty they choose.

**A free app can earn its maker money when someone sells a fork.** The royalty
is fixed at the fork and stays attached to later descendants. Nobody downstream
can remove an earlier maker's cut.

The platform takes 10% of a sale. Upstream royalties come from the remaining
90%, and the seller keeps the balance. A maker selling an original app has no
upstream royalties to pay. Hosting is separate from software ownership.

## Developer preview

Nate's Software is undergoing **continuous agentic development**. The catalog
is small, parts are unfinished, and many listings aren't available to buy yet.

Git, hosting, and testing tools are here, but support varies by project.
Stripe is configured for live payments; maker payouts are still off. Test
checkouts aren't a record of live sales or money paid to makers.
